More Than a Comeback: Lambda Phi Epsilon’s Deliberate Revival at Berkeley
In a move that blended meticulous revival with rare institutional tradition, Lambda Phi Epsilon International Fraternity has not merely returned to the University of California, Berkeley. It has deliberately resurrected one of its founding pillars on the West Coast.
On December 15, 2025, the fraternity welcomed 15 new members, a cohort that now carries the weight and legacy of the Delta Chapter name. The complex reactivation was engineered by a dedicated team of graduate brothers—(Florida State University, Spring 2021), Verich Luu (The Ohio State University, Spring 2023), and John Bui (University of Oklahoma, Fall 2018)—who served as educators for architecting the experience of the rechartering class.

The newly initiated brothers include:
1. Daniel Phan
2. Tommy Zeng
3. Alexander Siu
4. David Shi
5. Jason Pham
6. Hunter Flores
7. Matthew Lee
8. Ingu Hwang
9. Tayler Nguyen
10. Colin Suzuki
11. Shashwat Shrestha
12. Jordan Kim
13. Xiaojun Wu
14. Jason Yang
15. Yenadi Aye
For Duong, the project was a profound responsibility. “Rebuilding the Delta Associate Chapter was daunting from the start,” he acknowledged. “It required immediate action and a level of accountability that left no room for shortcuts.” He credited alumni support and critical guidance from figures like Director of Expansion Winston Lee, as well as financial backing through a chapter endowment fund from the LFE Foundation, for enabling the revitalization, which he said was done “with care and integrity.”
Co-Presidents David Shi and Alex Siu recognize their role as stewards of a renaissance. “This was about more than restoring recognition,” Siu noted. “It was about rebuilding structure, reconnecting a legacy, and creating a stronger foundation.” Shi remarked, “This experience taught us the value of accountability, unity, and leadership, and we’re proud of the chapter we’re continuing to build at UC Berkeley.”
Students interested in chartering a new chapter of Lambda Phi Epsilon may learn more on the International Fraternity website and express their intent by completing an expansion interest form.
