27 Jun Convention 2024: Year of the Dragon
The International Fraternity held its annual Convention from June 24-26, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brothers across North America gathered for a weekend to celebrate brotherhood, philanthropy, and achievement to the theme of “Year of the Dragon.”
Convention highlights
• Brotherhood Kickoff: The convention kicked off with a program emphasizing brotherhood and strengthening bonds between members.
• Philanthropy Event: Brothers participated in an event to benefit the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), assembling “Sunshine Kits” with essential supplies for young people experiencing homelessness.
• State of the Fraternity Address: International President David Kim provided an update on the fraternity’s financial health and future plans.
• Keynote Speaker: Sam Hyun was named one of The Boston Globe’s 2021 Bostonians of the Year. He’s been featured in Forbes, Good Morning America, the front page of the Boston Globe, and other publications for his advocacy. He addressed the brothers and shared his journey of growing up Asian American.
• Scholarship Awards: The LFE International Board and LFE Foundation presented scholarships to deserving chapters and individual members. The Outstanding Public Relations and Communications Award went to the North Carolina State University Associate Chapter.
• Banquet: A moment of silence was held to remember deceased brothers, including Vivek Taneja of the UVA Chapter. Graduating seniors, members who served or are serving in the military, and veterans were honored.
