23 Aug Changing of the Guard
Philadelphia, PA — The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Zac Antonius (Alpha Gamma, Spring 2016) will serve as the next Executive Director of Lambda Phi Epsilon. Effective September 1, 2019, Antonius will take over for outgoing Executive Director Jim Gaffney, who will be leaving LFE on August 31.
Antonius is a Spring 2016 initiate of the Alpha Gamma chapter at Baylor University where he received his bachelor’s degree in sociology. During his time as an active member, Antonius served in a variety of roles of his chapter’s Executive Board, including External Vice President, New Member Educator, and Treasurer. For the past year, Antonius has served as the Assistant Executive Director of Lambda Phi Epsilon, starting in this role in August 2018. Antonius currently lives in Texas where he enjoys attending music festivals and traveling.
“I am excited and honored to serve as the next Executive Director for our fraternity,” said Antonius. “It has always been a dream of mine to give back to the organization that gave me so much and made me who I am today. I look forward to continuing the great work Jim and the rest of the International Board have done and continuing to push us towards bigger and better things. The future is bright for Lambda Phi Epsilon, and I am proud to be a part of that changing future.”
Jim Gaffney has served as joint Executive Director of Lambda Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Inc. and alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc. since January of 2017. On September 1, Gaffney will become the Executive Director of the Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity, serving as their third Executive Director and taking over for Michael Abraham who has been leading Theta Tau since 1996. Gaffney is a 2007 initiate of the Kappa-Lambda Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Shippensburg University.
“Serving Lambda Phi Epsilon has been an honor and a privilege,” said Gaffney. “I’m confident that under the continuing leadership of the Board of Directors, and with Zac at the helm, LFE will continue to grow and prosper, and to live up to its motto of creating Leaders Among Men.”
“We wish Jim the best of luck at Theta Tau,” said International President William Tan. “His work with Lambda Phi Epsilon has helped transform our organization. He has been a changing pillar for our Fraternity reforms and growth as Lambda Phi Epsilon adapts to the changing landscape of fraternity and sorority life. He leaves us well-positioned for the future and in the capable hands of his successor, Brother Zac Antonius.”
